This reference cement is available from Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL) to use in the evaluation of calibration of the isothermal calorimeter and sample preparation method used, as mentioned in ASTM Standard Test Method C1702. This material was produced in cooperation with ASTM Subcommittee C01.26 on Heat of Hydration. The procedure for using this material is given in Appendix X1 of the latest edition of ASTM C1702 Test Method for Measurement of Heat of Hydration of Hydraulic Cementitious Materials Using Isothermal Conduction Calorimetry.

The reference cement consists of 225 grams of material packaged in a Mylar/foil vapor barrier bag. Documentation is provided in the link below. The documentation provides C1702 heat of hydration values in kJ/kg at ages of 1, 24, 72, and 168 hours. Also included are answers to frequently asked questions. The current document for this Reference Cement can be downloaded here:  LOT 1.
